A Family Estate at the Heart of History
Château Haut Meneau, a family-owned property for several generations, is nestled in the heart of the village of Saint Paul. Classified as 1er Cru Bourgeois in 1874, this 20-hectare estate, once a stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, spans clay-limestone soils that face south. Since 1998, Jacques-Henri Bravard, a trained oenologist, has taken over from his father, continuing the tradition of producing high-quality wines.
Exceptional Terroir and Artisan Winemaking
The vineyard, planted on one of the best terroirs of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, is composed of red grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, as well as white varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Since 2009, the estate has been managed using organic farming methods, with the first certified vintage in 2012. Each plot is meticulously tended to ensure the richness of the wines. The winemaking process is entirely artisanal, carried out in traditional vats with a fermentation period of three to five weeks, followed by aging in oak barrels. The estate produces an average of 80,000 bottles per year, all bottled on-site.
