THE CHÂTEAU ADVENTURE: A VISION FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND NATURAL WINES
Since 2007, Nathalie and Eric Boyer have been cultivating 3.75 hectares of vines in Moulin-à-Vent with an ambitious vision: to restore the château and its grounds while living in harmony with nature. Transitioning from sustainable viticulture (viticulture raisonnée) to biodynamics, they produce natural wines that honor their terroir. The estate, a true ecosystem, houses farm animals and hosts cultural events throughout the year. The Château also offers guest rooms and an Orangerie dedicated to wine tasting.
THE EXPRESSION OF TERROIR AT CHÂTEAU DES GIMARETS
Château des Gimarets exclusively grows Gamay grapes on 3.75 hectares of poor granite soil in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. The vines, which average 65 years of age, are densely planted (10,000 vines/hectare) to emphasize grape quality. Committed to organic and biodynamic practices since 2017 (certified in 2020), the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal quality. After vinification, the wines rest in the château's 17th-century cellars. Production is limited to 12,000 bottles per year, ensuring a unique and exclusive wine experience.
