History and Legacy
Founded nearly 800 years ago, the estate was first recognized in the 12th century for its springs. Monks established a fish pond and a wine cellar there. In 1399, the Budé family fortified the estate and began supplying wine to the royal court. The classical façade was completed in 1628, establishing the estate's prestigious reputation. After the ruin of the Marquis de Traynel, the estate was sold in the early 20th century.
Renaissance and Sustainability
In 1978, Bernard and Brigitte Lefébure revived the estate, with Albert Bichot managing the land. In 2015, Arnould and Isabelle took over, converting the vineyards to organic practices and applying biodynamic principles. Biodiversity became central to their approach. Isabelle also developed luxury guest accommodations, breathing new life into the estate.
