Terroir of Boutenac, Grape Varieties, and Characterful Wines
The Château de Saint-Louis is located in Boutenac, within the Corbières appellation, covering 120 hectares of vines. This estate has been managed sustainably for over 30 years, focusing on producing characterful wines that highlight the unique characteristics of the exceptional Boutenac terroir. A new modern winery and restructuring of the vineyard have been implemented. Renowned for its historical winemaking, with Roman legions harvesting grapes on this land, the Boutenac terroir offers a diverse range of soils, Mediterranean climate, and a strong marine wind.
A Wide Range of Wines from Distinct Appellations
The Château Saint-Louis produces a wide selection of wines across several appellations: AOP Corbières and AOP Corbières-Boutenac. The wines focus on fruitiness and indulgence, crafted from typical regional grape varieties. Bourboulenc and Marsanne are used for white wines, while Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan are the key varieties for the Château de Saint-Louis Prestige, Boutenac, and A Capella wines.
A rich and exclusive terroir, small yields, harvests at peak ripeness, and complex blends result in concentrated and aromatic wines. This diversity allows for the creation of fruit-forward, harmonious wines as well as elegant, characterful wines.
