Historical Beginnings and Passionate Stewardship
The origins of Château de Fosse-Sèche date back to the Middle Ages when Benedictine monks first planted vines here. In 1998, the Keller-Pire family discovered this exceptional place and began a new chapter. Today, the estate is led by Adrien and Guillaume, the second generation, who carry on their family’s dedication to creating high-quality wines while respecting the natural environment.

A Unique Ecosystem and Organic Commitment
Driven by a deep passion for nature, the family has transformed the estate into a thriving ecosystem. Beyond converting the 17 hectares of vineyards to organic production, they have created a rich environment with ponds, pollen meadows, organic alfalfa, and uncultivated areas to promote biodiversity. This commitment to conservation has earned the estate a classification from the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), supporting a sanctuary for animals and insects.

Distinctive Terroir of Jurassic Soil

The vineyard lies within a 45-hectare estate on unique Jurassic soil—a geological rarity in the Saumur area, known for its limestone terroirs. Fosse-Sèche’s soil, composed of flint and iron oxide stones, imparts a distinctive mineral complexity to its wines. The result is a range of wines with remarkable character, rooted in history and nature.
