A Historic Venue: Château de Chardonnay and Its Timeless Viticulture Legacy
This 15th-century château, once belonging to the church and later passing into the hands of several Burgundy lords, finally came into the Bretin family in 1902, who revitalized its winemaking activity. Since then, it has been passed down through generations of passionate winegrowers. Formerly known as Tinailler, the château has witnessed countless harvests within its fortified walls over the centuries.
From the monks who once made wine here to the villagers of Chardonnay who came to press their grapes on site, Château de Chardonnay has always been intrinsically linked to viticulture throughout history. Today, we combine these centuries-old walls with modern equipment to offer you the finest wines in a unique and historic setting. Visit us to taste our different cuvées and embark on a journey through time.
