An early commitment to environmental protection

Domaine Beatrix de Gimbres, run by Béatrice Fagot, has always made it a point of honor to work its vines in an environmentally-friendly way. As early as 1995, Hubert Fagot, vineyard manager, decided to stop using insecticides, conscious of the importance of a balanced biotope. This choice has led to the return of beneficial insects such as ladybugs, reducing chemical treatments and improving soil quality. The estate has also adopted mechanical weeding practices, promoting soil biodiversity, with a wealth of earthworms and other micro-organisms essential to the vines.

Sustainable and organic viticulture

The estate quickly moved towards more sustainable viticulture, obtaining HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Viticulture Durable) certifications as early as 2014. In 2021, Béatrice took the next step by adopting organic viticulture, eliminating the use of synthetic chemicals.This approach preserves the integrity of the terroir and produces exceptional wines.Pruning, trellising and pruning practices are carried out with care to guarantee grape quality and prevent the risk of spring frosts, while respecting the vine's natural cycle.

To enable our champagnes to fully express their terroir, our winemaking methods are minimalist. The domaine uses a method with no added SO2 at disgorgement, resulting in champagnes that are open, aromatic and with a unique mineral structure. Located in Rilly-la-Montagne, a Premier Cru village on the Montagne de Reims, the domaine cultivates the three Champagne grape varieties on chalky, limestone-covered hillsides: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The fruity, balanced and elegant Beatrix de Gimbres cuvées are a perfect reflection of Beatrice's passionate work and the exceptional terroir in which she grows.
