Top 3 Celebrities Making Headlines Who Love Wine

These stars have two things in common: they're in the news!
Bob Dylan, Pénélope Cruz, Olivier Giroud, Christophe Jallet... These stars all have, in one way or another, an affinity with wine. Here are a few celebrity “wine” anecdotes unearthed on the web.
1) Bob Dylan: a winery in Italy
Bob Dylan has just released a new album: Fallen Angels, a tribute to the great Franck Sinatra. For the occasion, the interpreter of Tambourine Man and Hurricane has also announced a tour. What does this have to do with wine? Well, we may not be telling you anything if we say that Bob Dylan is an avowed epicurean and therefore (inevitably) a wine lover. But did you know that he is the proud owner of a wine estate? His vineyard is called Le Terrazze, managed by Antonio Terni and located in Italy's Marche region.
2) Christophe Jallet and Olivier Giroud: two soccer players with a passion for wine
When you think of sportsmen and women, you don't necessarily imagine them with a glass in hand. And yet, soccer players Olivier Giroud and Christophe Gallet, both selected for Euro 2016, are passionate about wine. Olivier Giroud discovered wine a few years ago when his wife gave him a cellar. Christophe Jallet, meanwhile, has been immersed in wine since childhood. While the former loves red wines from the Rhône Valley, Bordeaux and Languedoc, the latter is more partial to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Haut Médoc and Chablis.
In an interview with the Revue du Vin de France, the two players compare each other to a wine: “Giroud reminds me of a rather powerful, relatively fine wine. A classy, impressive player who improves with age,” says Jallet. Giroud sees his team-mate as “explosive, fast, lively and strong in the mouth”.
3) Pénélope Cruz: a fan of red wine and chocolate
Some may have been surprised not to see her on the poster for Pedro Almodovar's new film “Julieta”. But fans of the beautiful Spanish actress needn't be disappointed, as she is the star of Julio Medem's film “Ma, Ma”, out on the big screen this Wednesday. In an interview with Gala magazine, the bubbly Spaniard confirms that she takes good care of her body and eats well. But she does have one guilty pleasure: a glass of red wine with a square of chocolate. So, even if she doesn't splurge, she knows one of the best food and wine pairings. Respect.
