Domaine de Laxé spans 90 hectares between Montréal du Gers, Condom, and Mézin, right in the heart of Gascony. Located on clay-limestone plateaus and slopes, it benefits from a temperate climate ideal for vine growth. This Gascon terroir enjoys perfect rainfall and mild autumns that contribute to the excellent ripeness of the grapes.

For over 50 years, Domaine de Laxé has been cultivating its rich, deep soils, perfectly suited for viticulture. These sought-after Gascony terroirs can produce both delightful everyday wines and exceptional fine wines.

A Family Legacy

Domaine de Laxé is a family estate established in 1962 by the grandfather of the current vintners. Arriving from Oran, Algeria, Désiré Estrade undertook a monumental task to create this vineyard with his own hands: clearing the land, planting the vines, and building the winery.

He passed this passion on to his sons and grandsons, Rémy and Éric, who now manage the estate. Building on solid foundations, the new generation blends tradition with modernity in their vineyard work. As a result, the estate offers wines with very different profiles: light, powerful, and premium cuvées. Domaine de Laxé has been transitioning to organic farming since 2018, and the 2021 vintage will be Ecocert certified. The Estrade brothers enjoy sharing their passion and are also developing wine tourism to introduce their work to a broader audience.

The estate cultivates emblematic grape varieties of the Southwest, such as Tannat, Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Petit Manseng, and Gros Manseng. It also highlights international varieties like Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon, and Syrah.

Domaine de Laxé offers several wine ranges. The Classics feature wines with typical Southwest profiles, more original wines with the Friandises range, and premium cuvées aged in barrels, suitable for aging.
